Despite the beauty of winter, one cannot help but wait for the arrival of spring with an air of anticipation.

There will be a flower arranging class held this weekend at the fourth, for those who are interested. I'm afraid that given the season, there will be no fresh flowers, but there are enough pressed ones to suffice. Snacks, as usual, shall be provided for those who come <s>even if they are just there for the snacks themselves...</s>

My thanks to all the divisions and their <strike>mostly</strike> prompt and organized nature with the physical examinations. I am aware that several shinigami throughout the divisions still require said check up, and I will list these shinigami with the division reports that are to be given to all captains come tomorrow.

I hope all is well with you? Perhaps tea later this week, circumstances pending.

Like a nest of scorpions, once you start shaking, you are surprised by the numbers that come out.

It would seem that some lessons are never learned, despite seeing the results time and again. What he must think for Aizen did not even need to lift a hand in this endeavor. The hands of a healer are not to be used in such a manner. From within my own division.

How long is too long. Have I truly become so lax? Those of the 4th have always been a tight-knit family under the insignia of the bellflower. Genuine elegance. How they have forgotten.

I will personally check each drawer and each closet. To think that I need hand out medicinal items like a jailer.

Injuries and maintenance may be taken up with any of the members of the fourth division, as I will be otherwise occupied for a few days. Any truly pressing concerns, feel free to contact me.

New Years. Somehow, there is always a brightness to it, as if things are somehow starting anew and that hope may once more flourish. I will admit that I have always enjoyed the fireworks and the festivals.

I do hope that everyone has so far enjoyed their New Year, though a reminder that the only thing that truly cures a hang-over is time... I would hate to see someone get injured and end up in the Fourth, and more likely than not, miss all further New Years activities...

I have send an update to all captains who had a member of their division injured in the recent hollow attacks. I'm afraid they shall be confined to the fourth until further notice, and I shall keep you posted on their status should it change.

A reminder as well. Those in the fourth shall abide by the rules of the fourth. Your lives are in our hands, and we shall see you discharged in the timeliest fashion.

Ten dead, some of whom we had just finished healing.

Is there more to this, or are we simply looking at things too hard... Judging from past experiences, one may never look too hard when Aizen is concerned.

Soon it shall be December. Such a pristine time, though I shall miss the summer blossoms upon the hills and the fresh herbs from the wild.

A reminder to those who were injured that they should remember to check in for an update after seven days of being released from the hospital. I would suggest sending some form of communication prior to doing so, simply to allow for a quick and efficient process. If, for some reason, you do notice something prior to this, please come in immediately.

A moment to breath once more.

Unnecessary, and uncalled for.

The question remains, for what purpose? Once such a thing would have been over-looked, yet when the one behind it is the master of illusion, such delicate details must be observed.

To be free of the yoke, and yet, such a thing would not come unless paid for with its price in blood.

It seems that at least the sudden influx of hollow activity has once more come to a cease. I trust that those of you who put in extra shifts to help take care of this threat are now looking after yourselves. Rest and fluids will allow you to replenish yourself much faster.

Isane. If you could deal with anything barring an emergency, I would appreciate it. I'm afraid some of our resources are a bit depleted and I must work on replenishing some items.

Pleasant tea. We shall need to do that again, some time soon.

It merely goes to show how depleted out forces have become. Even in these years of supposed peace, we still must work our numbers overtime in order to keep the hollow threat at bay. Yet, it is interesting, is it not, that even Aizen is not as all-knowing and powerful as he seems to be. A sign, maybe.

They had lost. By the time that Retsu had made it out of Hueco Mundo, a majority of the action had already occurred. All that she could do was see to healing those that she could, yet even her talents in that field proved to be limited, for she could not raise the dead. Many allies were lost that day, and even though she knew that the things she could do were limited, for Retsu it still hurt knowing that she could not do more.

In itself, those of the fourth division were not injured too much, as the fourth was not a division that engaged the enemy, for they instead looked after the wounded. Despite this, death still did affect them, for friends and comrades were lost. Retsu did her best to console her vice captain Isane, for the fidgety woman had lost her sister in the war. Retsu’s healing, it seemed, would not be limited solely to those of the flesh, but also to the mind. She did all she could for her vice, for Retsu knew that she must have been suffering, for although Retsu had no family of her own, the members of her division were similar to that. It was a time of bonding, of renewed friendships, of learning that life could go one despite all the hardships that one faces.

For Retsu, the initial feeling of failing her dead wards never truly left, though she was wise enough to know that some things cannot be helped. If anything, Retsu threw herself back into her work with greater force. It was easy enough to do, as there were many who required medical attention, and the halls of the fourth rang with their noises. Even when the ryoka had invaded there had not been as much bloodshed. In a way, she felt adrift, for the General Commander had been one of the key forces of Seireitei whom Retsu had grown up with. She had never truly thought about life without his silent imposing manner, and she could not help but find solace in the fact that not all ties to the past and her younger days had been cut.

Things did eventually return to normal, if normal it could be called. Retsu bore no illusions about Aizen, having been tricked already twice before, yet she continued to do what she did best; heal the wounds of the shinigami, both mental and physical. Some attempt was made to return to a routine life, whether it was sharing a tea with her vice in the evening, or spending more time with her old friends Shunsui and Jyuushirou. While the fourth would never actually take the front lines, for their power lay not in that direction, Retsu did know that they could not continue as they did under Aizen, and while she might not fight on the front lines, she could use all her skills as a healer to ensure that all those who could be saved, would be.

Zanpakutou Name: Minazuki (Purify the Flesh)

Sealed Form:
Sealed, Minazuki is a nodachi, which is a longer sword. It is hung over Retsu's back when she is carrying it, strung over her shoulder by a rope strap. There are times when she will also allow Isane to carry it for her. When unsealed, Minazuki has the ability to turn into a giant, flying, one-eyed mantra ray. It can be used to transport people on its back, or it can swallow people. Inside its stomach, there are healing properties which help those that are injured. It can also grow three legs to land, and will puke out the people in its stomach on Retsu's command. They will come out covered in a variety of fluids from Minazuki's stomach.

--- Shikai
Shikai Release Phrase: - - - -
Shikai Appearance:

Shikai Abilities:

--- Bankai
Bankai Name: N/A
Bankai Appearance: N/A
Bankai Abilities: N/A
